Approximately $150,000 is available to fund P&F grants (minimum 2, maximum 4). The major objective of this program is to provide research support to develop preliminary data and/or novel methods from individuals or multidisciplinary teams involving nutrition/obesity-related research.

Pennington/Louisiana NORC - Trans-NORC Pilot & Feasibility

The Nutrition Obesity Research Centers (11 Centers at present) provide a research infrastructure, including research services, enrichment programs, and collaborative activities, at academic/medical institutions throughout the U.S. The goal of the program is to foster interdisciplinary basic, clinical, and public health research. Center programs are expected to bring together established and new investigators who are actively conducting research related to nutritional sciences and/or obesity theme(s). The primary goal of this Trans-NORC Pilot and Feasibility (P&F) Program is to encourage and facilitate new, innovative and collaborative research around our NORC overall program.

Trans-NORC Visiting Scholar Program

The Pennington/Louisiana NORC is seeking applications to support training opportunities for NORC junior investigators in translational research in nutrition and obesity. This is a competitive application to identify and select candidates. The overall objective of the program is to provide support so that junior faculty can extend and enhance their skillset in research by visiting laboratories of other NORCs, and working with mentors to learn new techniques or obtain expertise in a specific topic area.
